Fluid flow, single or multi-phase, can be found in process industries including gasification, fluid catalytic cracking (FCC), polymerization of olefins, tubular fixed bed reactors, coating and drying, granulation of powders, combustion of hydrocarbons, and many others. The nature of these flows are multiscale, giving rise to the complexity of the flow/kinetic behavior of the process. We in cemf use various tools to simulate reacting and non-reactive flows at various length- and time-scales. For design, optimization, intensification and troubleshooting of these processes, a detailed information of the undergoing phenomena is required. These information can be the velocity and pressure profile in an apparatus, temperature or concentration variation, kinetics and yield of reactions, mixing and turbulence and heat transfer rates, product flow rates and composition of processing units and etc.
